The government announced a local lockdown in Leeds on 25th September. Following Boris Johnson’s announcement on Monday 12th October, Leeds has been placed in Tier Two – households cannot mix indoors and the rule of six applies outdoors. If you’re considering moving house and taking advantage of the Stamp Duty holiday, you’ll likely want to know whether you can still move.
The answer is, YES! Regardless of which tier you are in, you can continue with your move as normal and arrange to view the homes you’re interested in. This means areas in Tier 3 (very high alert) can still move house. If you’d like to view a property or book a valuation, please get in touch.
We’ve put numerous measures in place to keep our clients and our teams are safe:
- Our branches are COVID secure. We’re open by appointment only, so please contact us if you’d like to pop in. We’ve undertaken risk assessments and continue to monitor the situation regularly.
- Our team are wearing face masks in branch and during appointments. Team members are equipped with hand sanitiser and have been advised to use it frequently throughout the day. Our colleagues will not come into the office if they have COVID-19 symptoms.
- We are providing a contactless service where possible. If you need a face-to-face appointment (such as a property valuation), we will follow government guidance on social distancing and request that any internal doors are left open. Don’t worry, we won’t ask to shake your hand.
- If you’re viewing a house, we’ll request that only two households are inside the property at any time.
We’re here to help. If you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch.Back to Blog
